Neighborhood Explorers

Do you have an interest in architecture and city planning? Do you like measuring, drawing and creative design?

If so, then the Neighborhood Explorers program at the Museum of the City of New York is for you!

Get involved in shaping the East Harlem community! Learn skills in architecture,
planning, and design to devise a solution to a neighborhood issue. This weekly after
school program culminates in the making of scale drawings and models.

Students may be able to receive community service credit for their participation.

Student work will be exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York and all participants are invited to a formal opening of the exhibition.

The spring semester is now in session. If you'd like more information or have any questions about getting involved in fall 2009, email jlangholtz@mcny.org.

The Museum is grateful to State Senator José M. Serrano, City Council Member Melissa Mark-Viverito, and the Rochlis Family Foundation for their support of Neighborhood Explorers 2009. In 2008, Neighborhood Explorers was generously supported by the Rhodebeck Charitable Trust and the New York City Department of Youth and Community Developmet.
